My dear Dr Spohr,

The Philharmonic Society, being anxious to give as much interest as possible to their Concerts of the next Season by the production of new works of a high order, and retaining a grateful remembrance of the benefits you have ahead conferred upon them by your kind compliance with their requests, have desired me to trouble you with this Letter, begging that you will kindly inform them if you have any Orchestral Work, not hitherto performed in England, which in your opinion would be suitable for the society‘s Concerts, with the Nature of which you are well acquainted; and weter you could communicate to them the Score (Partition) of such a Work in time for the Concerts, which will be given in April, May, and June next. The Society will esteem it a particular facour if you will oblige them with an answer to this Inquiry as soon as you can do so with convenience.
I take this opportunity of recalling myself to your memory, and of assuring you of the admiration and esteem with which I am
Your respectful Friend
and Servant
Geo. Hogarth
