14th May 1852.
Most Honored Sir,
It is with feelings of the profoundest respect, as well as of the deepest admiration, that I now adress you.
For many year past, your “Violin School” has been my constant daily companion. I have gone throught it; I hope i am not presuring, when I ask what course of Systematic Instruction you would now recommend to be pursued. I may here mention that I have studied no other Violin Compositions than those contained in the “School“.
To remember with gratitude, Him who has done so much to forward me as an Artist, Shall be the Constant Endeavor, of,
Most Honor’d Sir
Your Humble Pupil
