Beschreibung nach Inhaltsangabe 1: „Autograph Letter Signed, to Thomas Williams, in German, informing him that he has recently composed a ninth symphony titled ‘The Seasons' which has not yet been performed in Germany. 1 page, 4to, integral address leaf with address written in French; folds, age-browned, address page soiled. Cassel, 1 October 1850 E300-400 Williams is addressed as 'Secretaire des Directeurs des Grands Concerts Nationaux.' Spohr outlines the structure of the work and offers a copy for 12 pounds sterling on condition that no part of it be published in England.“
Beschreibung nach Inhaltsangabe 2: „Fine content A.L.S., "Dr. Louis Spohr" 1p. large 4to., Cassel, Oct. 1, 1850, in German to Thomas Williams, the ‘Secretaire des Directeurs des Grands Concerts Nationaux,‘ regarding his new work, the ninth symphonytitled ‘The Seasons,‘ which has not yet been performed in Germany. Folds, light age toning, otherwise very good.“
In seinem Brief an Edward Taylor, 10.03.1851 ergänzt Spohr zu diesem Brief: „der Secretaire der Unternehmer der Nazionalconzerte in London, Herr Thomas Williams, hat für diese Concerte meine 9te Sinfonie, ,die Jahreszeiten‘ verschrieben und ich hatte die Bedingung gestellt, daß das Honorar dafür mit 12 livres Sterling bezahlt werden sollte, sobald ich die Partitur eingeschickt hätte.“
