Mr. Luis, a partner of Mr. Wm Scharfenberg from your city, had very kindly consented to be the bearer of a Diploma of Honary membership of the Philharmonic Society of N. York1, which, unanimously passed with acclamation, apolicting your name among our members, it is the highest compliment in the gift of our Society, and I trust you will receive in it from an humble Society in this American city, the same Spirit in which it is2 given – we have every assurance that hope you will appreciate the good feeling whith which it is conceived as every musical breast holds you nearest his heart –
