Hesse Cassel

Red Lion Court
Fleet Street

April 26. 1843

My Dear & honoured Friend
By Mr. Tivendale I have the pleasure to send you an Adress1 signed by many of our best Instrumental performers, & a few of our singers. The former are chiefly members of the Philharmonic Orchestra, & there are some names of old friends that you will recognise.
Perhaps Peggy2 can tell you what Instruments some of them play, & the list of the Norwich Orchestra will also assist in explaining. Mr. Phillips & Miss Hawes have also promised their assistance, altho‘ their names are not signed.
I need not say how we are all counting of the time when we are again to welcome our dear friends from Cassel – to wohm pray remember me most kindly, & believe me

My Dear Friend
Ever Yours most truly
Edw. Taylor

Perhaps you will enable me to return a reply, in your name, to the letter which I have the pleasure to send. You will understand that it is not exclusively from the members of the Philharmonic Society, as neither Mr. Turle, Hobbs nor any singer is a member of it.
