{Wenn ich mich nicht irre, so haben Sie uns in einem Ihrer früheren Briefe eine Übersetzung der Kreutzfahrer von Meier Beer angetragen.} ((If it is so, I would wish to know whether your transcription of the score is already finished & whether you can content(?) us with it. Further I would wish to get beforehand the list of the dramatis personae with the addition of the disposition of the voices to be able to judge whether we can well get [???] - & lastly I would wish you to be good enough to make a note of the price.
With the most earnest request to kindly let me have some news soon after this I have the honour to be respectfully

Der nächste erhaltene Brief dieser Korrespondenz ist Ellmenreich an Spohr, 01.03.1828. Dazwischen müssen noch zwei weitere Briefe liegen: ein verschollener Brief von Ellmenreich an Spohr, in dem sie ihm das Personenverzeichnis der Oper und den Preis für das Aufführungsmaterial mitteilt, sowie ein ebenfalls verschollener Brief, in dem Spohr den Auftrag erteilt.
Diese Textfassung ist aus den beiden derzeit verfügbaren Textzeugen kompilliert. Der der Abschrift entnommene Text ist hier durch doppelte runde Klammern (( )) markiert, der dem Druck entnommene Text durch geschweifte Klammern { }.
